Before there were organized dog-registering organizations, there was always a cloud over the pedigree offered as evidence of a particular dog’s heritage from one dog owner to another.

Registries help assure that a particular dog is really what it appears to be, both in reality and on paper.

The American Pit Registry was founded to enable breeders and owners to have a simplified registration process for American Pit Bull Terriers.

Many registries require an extensive pedigree only from accepted associated registries.

But for a new breeder or owner of the American Pit Bull Terrier, fulfilling this requirement may be difficult or impossible.
